UPDATE:
So I've uploaded a new version of Antumbra with the promised "Medal-Checker" button and also added a "Reset Save" button at the Warning screen.
Medal-Checker can be found inside Medals screen, on the left. Just click it and it should run a check on your medals and reward you with the missing ones.
"Reset Save" is there if you save got bugged, corrupted or something. It will just reset your progress in game. Of course, without taking medals off you :)
Remember to CLEAR your web browser cach if you played Antumbra before!
I've also tried to solve the problem with game freezing and I got it fixed. If you run into something bad - please send me a PM.

Yup. That's right. Antumbra 2 is coming. More details soon.
Meanwhile almost done with the update for Antumbra 1. Sorry it took me so long. I had most of stuff ready but then I've discovered that my game has been stolen and embed on 3rd websites without my authorization. I wouldn't give a shit but those websites are making a lot of money from my work, and they do not pay anything back. So yeah.

Hi guys. Sorry, but you will hawe to wait for the update a bit longer. The game was stolen and embed on some 3rd party websites, without my permision or anything. Sadly, Newgrounds is to blame. As they had not made the source address hidden/encrythed. Same goes for Gamejolt and itch.io. I presume many games had been stolen this way. Not only my. Regardless - I am trying to get my game off those websites. Sorry :(

EDIT: Aaaand i've found a way for this to stop hehehe.

Frontpage on Newgrounds, 12 Lets Play videos and counting, 7th out of 25000 games in ranking at IndieDB. Dozens of reviews and private messages... I don't know what to say guys. I am really trying to figure out how can I express my gratitude. Describe it so you will FEEL it inside you. Words are not enough. You are the best, and I f*****g love you all. Never in my whole life, I felt like now. Never did I recived so much feedback and support. Because, as I've mentioned here and there - Antumbra... is not a game. Its me. Myself. Weaved into sounds, graphics and motion. And when the game recives so much love, this love streams directly to me. Making me all fuzzy and warm inside. And this is something, because you know - I am an odd ball. And the only thing I know is rejection. Yet here I am. And here are you. And you do not reject me, you don't push me back.
And my hands are shaking, and my eyes are wet. And I sit here, in my chair and speechless I stare at the screen. Not knowing what to say, because... "Words are just not enough".
I salute you.

Now, to the actual NEWS!

Hi guys. Phew what a 48h of life this was. I don't even know where to start. Maybe a recap will do. And I'll take it from there.
Sadly, I failed to get into Daily 5 on NG :( I assume this happened due to initial flow of Haters and 0-bombers. Shame. On front page 10 times more people could have play Antumbra...

Gamejolt brought me an unexpected flow of YouTubers and Lets Players. And I checked all the LP videos currently up. Incredible experience. Making games is one thing, getting betatest feedback is another, reviews are a different set of shoes too. But seeing someone play my game in real time? I lack the proper words to describe it. This way I could watch and observe what I did good or/and what I did wrong. And I seriously need to get in touch with someone who could run a proper spell checking on my games... I was sure I corrected all the text, but then this amount of typos and mistakes... Whoa. I am so ashamed >_<

On Newgrounds it was (is?) a constant battle. From what I observe, Antumbra brings the extremes. People either love it or hate. Nothing in betwen. Sadly, as i mentioned above, the 2nd kind of people came first... and left a very bitter taste. The funny and sad part is - the biggest complain was the game difficulty. And just because they coulnd't figure out the riddles right off the bat - they voted low... Screw the graphics, fuck the bug-free gameplay, lets take a huge dump on the music and audio I worked SO hard to create. Yeah, fuck that shit. They doens't matter. Right? All it matters is that the guy couldn't blaze throught the game like in Call of Duty. No wonder the gaming industry is in such a state. If this are the avarage expectations - no wonder. But this is a very dangerous thing guys. Because one day, you will wake up, in a world where the only games there are to play are Cookie Clickers clones, idle game and other bullshit that hardly is a game - that dominates front page. Even as we speak.

Kongregate? Now that was a waste of time. I don't know WHEN but that place just turned into some sort of casual "paint the unicorn" sort of nest. I though, that maybe Antumbra might make a presence there, due to lack of any serious games. But no. Kongregate as of now is worse then Google Play. Its a trashyard of moneygrabs and clones. Just to milk your wallet dry. Filled with stuff made not with passion, but with dollar signs in mind. Of course i want to make money of my passion. Who doesn't? But money is just a part of the story. A major part, but a part - not the whole.

But back to me and Antumbra. My inbox in here and via facebook is being constantly bombed by player sending me feedback. Awesome feeling. I try to reply to each and every message, but i am just one person. And then theres the review which i try to address too. So if you won't recive an instant reply - don't worry. I'll get back to you. I promise.

Also lets put here some numbers, because when i cannot say i went viral - i sure left an impact.
On Newgrounds, 3876 people played. With a score of 3.59 points.
On Gamejolt, 185 recorded plays. With a score of 4.4 points.
On Kongregate, 455 plays. Score 3.02... Eww.
That gives us a total of 4516 plays. Not bad. For a game that poped up about 2 days ago.
Also for a brief moment, Antumbra was ranked #7 out of 25 000 games. Wow. Don't believe me? Here, take look.

Sadly, now I fell back a bit. But still going strong! :D

I would like to add couple of stuff at the end.
I am the owner and creator of everything Antumbra is made of. Be it sound, gfx, code - everything. And so - if you would like to record a Lets Play video, go ahead with my blessing. I promise you won't run into any copyrights problems.
Today I need to pull my shit together and think what next.
My initial plan was to finish all the projects I started but never finished. Now, when someone is actually watching - I have a reason to do so. And what is there to finish...? Well, I think a small sneakpeek won't hurt... Click the link.

Oookeeeey. After a nasty storm, stuff is finally setting down.
And I am starting to feel better too.


Antumbra is ready.
Fixed some last-minute bugs and stuff. The game is parked and red-hot on Newgrounds and Gamejolt. Its not yet published because I want to launch the game at monday. But I checked everything and its working fine. Now I have to fix up a trailer for that thing.
I know what you might think "Dude, a trailer? For a 6h long, browser game?". Well why not? I am entering the market. Might as well do it with a kick. Plus, if I even DREAM of getting to frontpage/toplist - I need to generate A LOT of traffic during the premier day. And a trailer will do just that - boost up the traffic.
I do remember about Kongregate but... You probably don't know this but Kong is a huge pain to deal with for any HTML5 game developer.
Which is funny, because if you look at the traffic - they are the biggest browser games portal. Yet, their systems and managment is like 15 years old.
And thats why I am waiting. Doing everything else before. In case some last minute bug or stuff would pop out. Because once I dump my stuff on Kong - i won't be able to change it for a week. I mean, I will be - but the changes will take effect after about 5-7 days. And in that time players will come and will get pissed. And I wont be able to do anything, beside sitting, watching - and bumping my head agaist the wall, in anger. And all thx to Kongregate servers, not being able to properly flush their cach.

-betatesting still rolling but comming to an end
-added Browser detection to warn people if they are trying to play the game in a unsupported browser
-added sitelock to not get my game stolen
-finished doing Medals gfx.

To-Do:
-code medals in
-intergrate ingame Medals with NG,GJ and Kong API
-add score system

I hope I'll manage to get everything sorted till monday. I am aiming at THIS monday. But if I won't make it in time, then the next monday. And I'll add some extra stuff in the meanwhile.
Player needs about 7-8h to finish the game. So yeah it's not that big but hey - it always was a pet project. So it turned out better then i expected anyway.

Sorry it takes me so long. This is not a full-time project, so I am working on it only when I have free time.
The game is practically done, but not finished. 99% of the coding is fine. All the gfx and shit. The thing now I audio. I am a bit scared of the audio, because I have my standards when it comes down to audio quality. And when you are making audio for game, specially browsers game (which has a limited size) you really have to cut and chop - everything down. So no lossless bitrate, no stereo and no full-leight samples. So it's a pain for me to downgrade the quality of the audio, for the sake of meeting the maximum game size limitations (which at Kong is only 20mb).

Oh and as you might noticed - the game finally has a name! :D Antumbra.

I wonder, will anybody actually enjoy playing it...
